This is the Telkom LIT Android media box

I just saw some of the new summer delas for the lte. All lte deals cost the same but all data will be doubled. So if u take 50gb lte not only do u get the lit box but u also get 100gb day and 100gig night data

I actually have a feeling (still Googling) that HDR requires 10 bit colour depth and not 10 bit panel?

In other words it seems the factor that is missing (albeit, a large factor) is the brightness on this panel.

Could be wrong though

Proper HDR requires a 10 bit panel to display the correct dynamic range
 
I went to the Telkom Store to get my faulty box replaced they gave the same bs story I must book it in and wait 21 days. I then asked they must call the store manager as I am not happy. The manager kindly assisted and said he is aware of the faulty boxes and they have been recalled. I am getting a new box on Friday if all goes well when the new stock arrives
 
@Dolby , see if you can find out what time the update rolls out please ? Atleast @Kanniebos can then update his box.

There's no OTA.

It's a manual process going from his Android 6 to Android 7 :/

But remember he got his before it even launched, hence Android 6. When they're launched, they all have Android 7. His should never have been sold to him
 
Ah, i see. That makes sense. He may have to go in store for a replacement then. Hope it is a smooth process :mad: . Thanks for the info Dolby, too sharp. :D

Hope they also release an official DSTV Now app for other android tv boxes.
 
Someone close to a Telkom shop , find out if we can buy this thing today , and what shop did you go to?
Planning on shooting out over luch time to pick one up if we can buy it today.

anyone bought one already add some pics of the device.
 
also interested to see if the box is available today at stores with the correct version of Android, and also DSTV now available on it.

Struggled to find the deal on the PC too, so didn't get much info.
No new brochures delivered either.
