Uncapped ADSL for R159

but what abt those of us who dont have telkom lines? due to theft?
adsl doesnt help us..we need uncapped internet on vodacom 3g and mtn 3g ..etc etc????come on mtn .come to the party
 
I think honestly that these prices are great. but that when the bumping up starts you might sit with a 384k cap and a 1Mb line.
 
ISPs are currently addressing end-user request for cheaper broadband and unlimited access. I don't see contention ratio being addressed parallel to cost of uncapped offering. ISPs will push as many users to their networks as possible to maximise their returns.

We have all been given a choice to choose broadband packages that are appropriate to our needs. If you want speed - capped services are for you but cost will not be in your favour and vice versa. It's seems like a fair model for ISPs to be sustainable. We would not want their costs below margin and push some of them off the market. If it happens, we might as well create a new monopoly regime.

Don't get me wrong! I'm in support of low cost broadband but not at the expense of business sustainability! A time will come when it will become imperative for ISPs to address contension ratio.

Yeah. That's nothing besides clear deceit and demonstrates a genuine lack of integrity on their part.
 
I signed up with Mweb yesterday - 29/03. They emailed my username & password, and I connected fine. I had a look at my bill just now.
Billing period 29/03 to 31/05 - R480.26 VAT R67.24 - total R 547.50

2 months * R219 = R438 - so the prorata charge for 3 days in March is costing me R109.50
 
How is the speed on MyISP? I haven't seen much speed tests done. I would just like to compare a couple of ISPs, maybe Axxess too. That would be kewl.

I agree DanC, Currently downloading from BBC at 250KBs and still surfing at full rate at 16:00 on a Tuesday :)
 
O no, all these companies are going to go bankrupt... It's not sustainable ;)

And telkom is taking there sweet time, so hopefully they going to bring a deal to blow us all away.

10mg Unshaped Uncapped - R500 ...come on telkom you know you want to :P
 
Horse crap! Perhaps they advertise R159 per month, but I have sent them two e-mails already about their service, and have had absolutely no response. If this is anything to go by, I would rather stay with Afrihost and pay a little more for decent service.
 
This would all be so much better if there was true uncapped, unshaped bandwidth for low prices...
