VDSL upload speed (higher than expected?)

New MSAN in Kylemore, Stellenbosch.

Dammit. We got a new MSAN in 2014/2015 and with it came VDSL. Is it so much to ask for 10mbps up?

Just curious, were your reported maximum upload speeds showing +10mbps capability before the reset? I was so excited when they upgraded the MSAN in town start of the year but then my line turned out to be garbage.

I never checked it before I upgraded to VDSL in 2015.
Current max down is reported as 81060 kbps and max up is 12383 kbps according to my Asus router.

I would have loved higher upload.

Now my DSL internet light remains red.

I have ZERO internet access and Telkom is trying to tell me it's Web Africa, not them.

FFS the incompetence of this company will give AF a run for its money.

My VDSL syncs at 13 Mbps but it says it can do 17 Mbps.

Who must I call and what must I ask to get it faster?

I'm new to VDSL.

Vdsl syncing at 45 down and 3 up.

Telkom is as useless as they come.

Moved to VDSL a couple of days ago - since then it's been swapping between two modes:

29/6
35/1

When I see it's 35/1 I make a change to the "SNR Parameters" on the router - changing auto to a different value, eg 5, then it seems to sync at 29/6 again. (Bipac 8800NXL Router)

Quite annoying though as the line would just drop roughly once a day that I've noticed and reconnect at the alternative mode.

Seems ASSIA kicked in. Gained some on the downstream, lost on the upstream:

Downstream Upstream
SNR Margin (0.1dB): 21.7 6.1
Attenuation (0.1dB): 9.3 2.5
Output Power (dBm): 13.9 -16.3
Attainable Rate (Kbps): 136196 6890
Rate (Kbps): 45055 6692
D (interleave depth): 3072 61

Would prefer to get my faster upload back.
