https seems to be fixed!

Things are looking very good so far. I was throttled over the weekend and it was VERY severe but just waiting a hour and I was un-throttled. The severe throttling over the weekend was probably because of the under provisioned bandwidth so everything was running at capacity (even over the weekend). Today (Monday) with more bandwidth provisioned things seem to very good!

I am very impressed so far.
 
ok had problems playing COD this weekend, bad latency and lag spikes. Switched over to my Afrihost account and have been on it for the weekend and worked ok.

Will switch back over to my web africa account tonight since today it allshould be fixed.

I played some Path of Exile last night and spiked fairly badly on both a normal WA and uncapped account...

Not cool. :-( Pings are stable albeit 100ms higher on my telkom account.
 
I also really gave mine a good go this weekend and Im really impressed. I could tell when the throttling kicked in and I must say its been as advertised. I could still browse and i wasn't knocked down to a level where it too ages to do anything.

Thanks WAJeff and the guys at WA for the great product so far. +1 for transparency and honesty and all the hard work.
 
Just an update, since the few days of slow down issues last week, it's been flying back at what I expect from WA, no slow downs, no problems - first class connection.

Yep, smooth sailing today. Pings to EU servers have been 180-220 with minimal spikes and downloads have been nearly full speed. I'm not throttled.
 
Hi,

Got the 1MB uncapped on the 1st. Got full speeds for the first 4 days even when over my limit. I did +-28GB in four days. So really happy there. Starting yesterday evening torrents and steam totally stopped downloading, browsing was fine but gmail wouldnt even load (so guess https also affected).

Like i said, very happy, 28GB in 4 days on a 1MB connection, but i wouldnt mind being "deprioritised" earlier but then at least having 10kb/s spare, or alternatively having https available.

Throttled during business hours feedback.

When the throttling kicks in it is brutal - gmail won't load. Disconnect and reconnect and things are better. Speedtest reveals speeds around 512 so on a 4mb line that is 1/8th of line speed. Https is super dead.
 
https is dead slow when throttleling sets in. So other than that its flying
 
so when your throttled you cant use https? how does affect wow and bf3 , only games that's important to me :(

just remember im never at home during 9am and 6pm, so hope its not case after hours also.

This occurs with all ISP's if you a heavy user.
 
Got the 1 Meg uncapped account. Little bit dissapointed. I'm throttled already.. over my limit . I was under impression "NEVER deprioritise users if we have spare capacity on our network, unlike other ISPs".

So 8pm and network is maxed?

Edit: The account was activated at 4-5pm. I really thought during the day it might be throttled.. but seriously.. this quick.

Been almost a year with mweb and I'd yet to see my speed go to 512k for my 4mbs and I do anything from 100 up too 300.

I wish people would come out their caves and do away with the term Heavy user and for once think outside the box of theirs that anything more than 20gb must be warez, surely there is nothing else to do than download porn and other illegal things, I mean really :rolleyes:

My thoughts too (not even 6 hours). I just acquired a 600 meg file and 200 meg other files.. and throttled. Didn't even try... (I had a que of files to get, since I didn't do anything the weekend)
 
HI, when will international latency be sorted out, its been a week now and its impossible to Game on this account as theres Huge Packetloss in games like LOL/HON and it just get worse and worse.
