Web Africa Home Uncapped Feedback

Bwahaha :wtf:

me: hello?
me: anyone there?
craigv: yes
craigv: Bare with us, must answer phone calls while I chat to you.

me: can you maybe stop taking calls while chatting? it's kinda rude...
craigv: I do apologise, Me as a sales agent can not help us being short staffed as we only have 3 on call, very difficult to take call and chat. So Sorry.

Explained here, spoken to you on Twitter too.

As mentioned, our Sales guys are busier than usual. If you aren't winning on the live chat, phone us, email us, request a call back and we'll get back to you.

Just cancelled as I wasn't getting the speeds I was paying for. Don't want to have to live off test accounts but rather have one account that I am paying for and that gives me full line speed. If you can offer that let me know and you can cancel the cancellation.

I can understand that, but still, that is pretty damn rude. How the hell can you have a single person manning both the live chat and telephones? If you don't have enough people, switch the live chat off until you've got enough people to man all the stations.

If someone told me on live chat that their responses are delayed because they're also busy taking calls, I'd tell them to shove it where the sun doesn't shine.

Those on 384kbps line's with WA uncapped, how much do you do per day? Avg?

Got this:
I checked your account and noticed on many occasions that you downloaded well over 1gb per day which to be honest is really good on a 384k uncapped.

I dont have a product that guarantee's full line speed all the time as ADSL is a best effort service.

Im sorry that we have lost you as a customer and I do hope that everything is sorted out with your new ISP.

Got to give Jeff credit for all the answers he comes up with - I do not think I could keep finding the spins needed :)

0-6am: 130MB * 6 = 780MB + 0.915 = 1716MB per day in accordance with their AUP, minus 1.05 per seven days.
1GB a day is peanuts based on that.

Well I've often only got 4KB/s at 02:00 in the morning and 2Kb/s during the day... so no surprise there...

Sigh.. I thought it was just a rough patch, but WA you're really slipping compared to launch :-/

Try watch something off here for example: http://penny-arcade.com/patv/show/pa-the-series

I'm getting 50-100kb/s on my 4mb uncapped, clips have to buffer every 4 seconds. Switched to my mweb backup account and get full line speeds.

I'm not throttled, in fact only passed the 3GB threshold once this month.. It's 21:15, hardly a time when I should be getting lowest priority on the network.

This is just one example of several I've experienced tonight..

Why not just leave them then? Like I did...

lols, I just got a mail titled: 'Slow ADSL for ***@wadsl? Here's why.' That's a first for me. I do apologise for exceeding the threshold (one of a handful of times) but I am bored at home and want to try out STO...

Yeah, you are rather screwed if you're bored at home and feel like a proper Youtube frenzy.... I am a fan of 720p/1080p Youtube vids... so 3-4 5min vids for me and my threshold is reached.

Lol, coincidentally, this morning was the first time I reached my threshold and my speeds didn't drop. The FIRST time out of maybe 10 threshold bumps. Weird much?

My speed didn't drop as well, so Kudos to WA for that. On the other hand, the mail only came after the usage monitor hit 4odd gig. No biggie, will go wash dishes or something!

Local browsing is dog slow today.
Internet banking is so slow I'm scared it times out.
