My internet seems to be down. Vumatel trenched, Durban. Anyone else affected?

Ticket: #353285

Looks like the people in my area are affected too, so seems to be a Vumatel issue localized here if nobody else is affected

This is what someone working for Vumatel says:
"Morning, there is maintenance work happening, AEX is down in KZN, went down at 06:25, when power maintenance started at Teraco, all Core and Reach services will be down, unfortunately no ETA at this point"

Morning. Apologies for the delayed response here. No updates from Vumatel since sending out their initial notice- however, all gpon vlans are back up and traffic levels on the core Vlan seem to be back at normal levels. Monitoring this on our end.

Been having an awful experience the last few days.
Packet loss. twitch buffering. Just dropped off right now...

Anyone else?

No issues this side. Maybe has something to do with your drop the other day. Open a ticket so we can escalate to your FNO if needed.

Been fine here apart from my Xbox downloads. I think that's a Microsoft issue though as everything else seems to be working normally.

DSTV Now buffering quite a bit every now and then. Anyone else having that issue?

Seems to be happening on multiple devices.

I watched before 8pm but was fine for me.
I was watching catchup and not live TV.
Only issue I had was having to login a few times to get my profile to show properly.

DSTV is buffering again. Seems to happen around 8pm. Quality keeps fluctuating.

Do a trace to r-live-cache.akamaized.net and please post.

We peer with DSTV in both CPT and JHB (total of 4 paths for their traffic to reach us) and their traffic seems to be originating on net, so shouldn’t run out of another cache like Akamai- unless there’s an issue on their network…

That said, @JOEY_8, you’re in KZN if I remember?

Any chance you can check resource monitor to see what IP you’re getting the stream from?
