So meaning if I want to change away from my current ISP.. I would just give them notice and when that's served.. move across to Websquad at the beginning of a month ?

And there's no upfront charges? Or is there something that needs to go to vumatel?

Vumatel charges ISPs an "activation" fee, irrespective of whether it's a new signup or an ISP move - we cover this first activation fee for a client. So that means that there will be no cost involved in moving over. Simply submit your cancellation request, wait out your cancellation period (We wouldn't want you paying for two services) and leave it to our service delivery team to make sure your move happens as smoothly as possible.

Thanks for the explanation. Sjoe... I'm really liking the look of that gigabit promo. Even though I have no complaints with my current isp... a GB connection sure does have a lot of pull.

Ah man.. my old mikrotik I'm using now only has 100mbit ports so will have to get a new router. What is supplied with the line?

We supply a Tenda AC10 - it's a Gigabit capable router.

Regarding Mikrotik, you need to pick one that can NAT at 1G - as far as I know, the 3011/4011 are your only options here.

Any update on when you will be available on Openserve in Cape Town?

We're running Openserve already. Just no NNI in Cape Town at the moment; it's coming online by July. But you're welcome to try a test. Drop me a PM.

You guys are a bit expensive on Openserve. IPC really that expensive :crying: Looks like I will have to stick with Supersonic 200Mbps on Openserve for R1749 for now.

Yeah 40meg for 1.4k ? I dont see how that makes sense. That should be the price of a 100meg

Yeah I know a while back rep said they would need to compete on price to stay relevant but that means lower quality which they aren't going to do.

Still a bit expensive. You can get 100Mbps for cheaper like cfibre,accelerit,gigago,aitsa,a30 cloud,cybersmart....

Yeah, unfortunately IPC is that pricey. It's a horse and cart game here, so more IPC volume on hand means we can probably review pricing and introduce the larger 100 and 200 M packages. We'll keep reviewing here and as we bring up the 3 regions, get better IPC pricing from Openserve, and pass that on. For now, we're not wanting to oversell capacity and stray away from our first objective, which is quality.

Does @websquadza lock in your routers? Can i change them on demand?

Routers are pre-configured but admin password is given & can just be reset if you need. Vumatel locks to MAC address of the router but can be reset via phone. Other networks are either PPPoE or the same.

What if I use my own router and then change to theirs later? Is it unplug and play?
