They use Akamai to distribute the live feeds which are done through the peering on mweb (optinet) network. The DStv services if not mistaken use their open ips.We peer with DSTV in both CPT and JHB (total of 4 paths for their traffic to reach us) and their traffic seems to be originating on net, so shouldn’t run out of another cache like Akamai- unless there’s an issue on their network…

Any chance you can check resource monitor to see what IP you’re getting the stream from?
This is an IP of a feed for supersport right now 197.84.130.33, reverse DNS it's on mweb, which is part of the Akamai cache up range for r-live-cache.akamaized.net
