@websquadza I know this isn't websquad related but please could you take one more a look at these 2 updated MTR results on my Father line in PE?

From my understanding the first hop is equipment related and the second hop is vumatel related, is that correct? And if so, seing as there is loss on both of those hops wouldn't that mean that simply migrating IPS'S wouldn't entirely fix the problem? One last thing is that his line is at it's worst at night during peak hours if that helps.
Your average latencies are high... for both first and second hops. I'd be willing to bet there's local wifi issues (could be frequency, could be router) as well as issues with your line to the street. Sort out the wifi and then maybe log a call for your ISP to request an optic levels test?

Thanks, I'll let him know to do so:thumbsup:. My father is rather lazy when it comes to tech related problems and often just lives with it rather than troubleshooting so probably better to switch ISP'S and have a more knowledgeable ISP work with him to resolve the issue as supersonic reminds me of dealing with telkom

Apologies for the delayed response here. The first hop is your dad's router - in the case of the second image, the packets dropped between your dad's pc and the router (possibly a bad wifi link). In the first image, we see packet loss to the BNG. If it were a Vuma issue, all clients in the area would be affected. As per your post the other day, his ISP tends to move traffic to a secondary BNG in JHB when this one gives issues. s
So more likely a congestion issue. Loss on the second hop can point to two issues: FNO issues getting the packets to the ISP, or ISP BNG issues.

OK so first thing to do is get him off of supersonic and onto websquad. Thanks for the help with this, I really appreciate it.

Will check why this is coming in via LIT, they're an upstream of an upstream, but not particularly fond of their paths. Thanks for confirming.
