Weight Loss Thread 2014

Excellent!!

Thanks Sand_man.

Spending some time on the road and consistent time in the weight room is paying dividends. However the biggest key factor was getting my diet and macros in check. I am not following LCHF as my interest is not solely to lose weight and become thin.

The goal: 90kg @ 11% Would be perfect.

It's getting bit silly now. I need to eat more, I suspect.

How tall are you?
How much have you lost in total.

I'm impressed.

My mother used to tell me you can never be to rich or to thin.. ( excluding the eating disorder kind of thin )

My wife and I are gonna join up for the SleekGeek 8 week challenge.
Anyone else here done it, or been thinking of doing it?

I am now motivated enough to do it, but I think its going to be tough!

I did it for 4 weeks, but I only lost around 2 kg. It's kinda restrictive though. I prefer the primal way of eating. That allows dairy. The good thing about sleekgeek is that it allows you to identify which foods you may be allergic to or intolerant of.

Edit
You're not going to feel so great the first few days, but around the fifth day your energy levels really go up. If I had to do it again I would add more of the recommended fats and oils to my diet this time.

Just started this week with a very strict eating plan (7 Meals a day), plus gym regiment.

Wish me luck *gulp*

One observation if you will allow me;

Do not buy into the whole having to eat every 3 hours etc rubbish to keep your metabolism going blah blah. I don't have the article references handy right now, but it has been debunked.

The advantages to eating like that is that you don't get hungry as you eat every couple hours. If however you can see it that you eat all your food in say 4 meals or 3, feel free to do so.

The thermic effect of food is the same whether it's 15% x 6 x 300cal or 15% x 3 x 600cal. Your body does not care. As long as you get it all in.

Just saying :) And good luck!

Cool thanks bud :)

4 of those meals are liquid meals really :p Its 2 x meal replacements (with 2 x CLA Caps and 1 x Fat burner). Than 2 x protein shakes, with 1 scoop glutamine and 1 scoop creatine.

I'm curious, how many of you take weight loss tabs/supplements/whatever with this 'diet'? I have a metabolism juice (Herbex) and I take burner capsules. Is it a good thing or no?

I take Nutri-Tech CLA capsules and Hydroxycut hardcore elite fat burners. Along with a slew of other supplements (Whey, Meal replacement, Probiotics BCSAA powder, etc.)

I doubt that I will be following the diet and training routines to the T, I'll take what I want from them and incorporate it into what I am already doing or planning on doing. I have for the last week or so, already cut out most carbs, sugar and processed foods - and increased my fat intake. They generally follow paleo, which as far as I know is loosely based on LCHF anyway.

I just find some of the SleekGeek transformations amazing - sometimes unbelievable what can be achieved in 8 short weeks.

Did you do the 4 week REBOOT program? What kind of exercise routine where you doing?

For perspective, I was, for most of last year, between 85/89 Kg.

the only supplements I take are potassium and sodium

Whey - "increase fitness levels and accelerate muscle development" - I like the increased fitness levels but a bit wary of accelerated muscle development with weight still to lose.
