Ye - we went for Fri and Sat night. Just the 2 of us. Been 6 years since we got a weekend away together (mother in law used to baby sit and passed away 6 years back).

Was really a nice experience. After the whisky tasting we just wondered from restaurant to pup to restaurant having a beer, whisky or southern comfort until we eventually settled down at a sports bar for the rugby. Waaaay too many whiskies went down there. Thankfully we were only staying about 300m up the road from it :)

Och Aye! What a wonderful experience. Been simply ages since me and the precious missus had the chance to do something like that. And it is such a lovely town just to stroll around. Glad you had a great time and got home safely. :)

I'm a fan of Jack, so I bought a Sinatra limited edition at the Sandton festival. Back home I didn't want to open it ... But being impatient to taste it I bought another one for the poker on Saturday :-)

Has anybody bought and opened one?

Managed to find 3 of these for my stocks...

No, you were right the first time...it is bad. Spend some more money...try Tullamore Dew, Bushmills or Jameson.

Hate Jameson, Tullamore Dew is nice and I love Bushmills.

I am pretty poor, so I am just trying to find a cheap whisky that is palatable.

I won't be trying the Three Ships again, I can assure you.

I am trying the 5yo, not the cheap cheap one.

There's a cheap Canadian one that is super nice but I can't remember the name.

Have you tried Bains?
