So black bottle is a no go I take it. I got 2 bottles from a friend...
Black bottle is my fav blend. All Islay (peaty whiskies) are in there. Smooth as well

Ye - we went for Fri and Sat night. Just the 2 of us. Been 6 years since we got a weekend away together (mother in law used to baby sit and passed away 6 years back).
Was really a nice experience. After the whisky tasting we just wondered from restaurant to pup to restaurant having a beer, whisky or southern comfort until we eventually settled down at a sports bar for the rugby. Waaaay too many whiskies went down there. Thankfully we were only staying about 300m up the road from it![]()
Three ships; really smokey!
Actually, it's not TERRIBLE, just a bit raw.

No, you were right the first time...it is bad. Spend some more money...try Tullamore Dew, Bushmills or Jameson.
My brother bought it for me, I find the smokiness pretty cool even though it's pretty harsh.
I enjoy Jack Daniels or Jim Beam
Hate Jameson, Tullamore Dew is nice and I love Bushmills.
I am pretty poor, so I am just trying to find a cheap whisky that is palatable.
I won't be trying the Three Ships again, I can assure you.
I am trying the 5yo, not the cheap cheap one.

I can't imagine what the cheapest one must taste like, hehe.
Have you tried Bains?
I have the 5yo one.
How are you drinking it? I'm finding neat with one block of ice is the most palatable.
Oh god, no, Pooky, just no.![]()
Try and keep up.![]()
Don't like it, although it is very smooth. In that price range though, Bushmills wins hands down.
