Im still struggling with peat but not against it. Can you guys recommend the best dram to start off with, say perhaps something to start, then the next step from there on out?

I dont want to buy a bottle then its a bit too much and it just stands in the cupboard. I wanted to buy an Ardbeg from Makro the other day but left it due to the above reason.

I just opened the Loch Lomond 12. A real bargain at R375! (25% off 499.99)

edit: I've also opened The Open and I find it a very enjoyable whisky. Also a good deal at R300 (25% off 399.99), but I'm going to try and pick up another one of the 12 YO.
