Agreed :cool: A good friend's first child is arriving in late December/early January so I am going to get him a bottle as a gift, so I can have some, of course.

P.S. I made two mistakes recently, the second was giving up alcohol for November and the first was not remembering the last time I gave up alcohol for November :rolleyes:
 
Hey guys, good special on TAKEALOT now. I think the pricing might be wrong, but I'm not sure. It was on special a few days ago and I wanted to get one then, but they sold out REALLY quick. Essentially they have a 750ml bottle of Woodford Reserve bourbon (usually a ~R400 bottle), as well as a 200ml bottle of Angostura bitters in a box together for R375: https://www.takealot.com/woodford-reserve-and-angostura-gift/PLID71111017

It's back in stock - I just ordered mine. Bargain.

I got a bottle of Johnny Walker Green Label recently. Saw it on special on Amazon and picked it up for £33, which is not bad. Usually it goes for £40.

Have only had one dram so far, but it is incredibly smooth. I like it.

Guys, reliable online whisky shops? Not talking supermarkets like Makro or Checkers Liquor here. Talking about proper whisky shops. I have the following list I know:

Whiskybrother
Bottega
Norman Goodfellows
Bottleshop (yes, they're back, although their selection sucks)

And then some I don't know, like:
Whiskymag.co.za? Are they any good?
Cybercellar? Read the name, never dealt with them?

Any others I'm missing one could look out for a good deal on?

Anyone clued up in how to access Checkers' Black Friday sale? It says their whisky is online only but no matter where I set my store to I cannot find 1/4 of what's on promotion.

Looking for the Glendronach 18 Allardice - if that helps.

Are you using https://www.checkersfs.co.za/ ?
I know some labels are only available in store (like glen scotia 15 and loch lomond 18)

Btw, last week I went to Norman Goodfellows Green Point and they had the Glendronach 18 (and also the 15)

I love it too as a daily drinker. The JW Island Green is even better, but harder to find.

I had tried that but they only deliver to Gauteng and Western Cape. I'm in Durban so I guess I'm SOL.

Thanks for the heads up about NGF - the price is fair enough if I can't get a hold of Checkers.
