Meh. RC1 works perfect for me anyway. I'll only install again with RTM. I doubt they would add new features now, mostly bugfixes.
 
I am on build 7077, and have the RTM :) But I won't be re-installing until the final release is out ... Too much effort and 7077 is running perfectly
 
Ugh I do not have the bandwidth for all these RCs. I'm sticking with RC1 until they force me to downgrade.

How can you have the RTM? That is only going to be release end of July.

How do you have the RTM exactly? If there was a RTM it would be all over the net so i think you may be confused hey.
 
There won't be an RC2, MS have said so on many occasions. In the blog post where they announce the release date of the OS they state the date it will go to RTM also, so they won't be releasing a RC2 between now and then because its a month away. Release cycles just don't allow that to happen - expecially iff you are working on a product like Windows! The release cycles for software this big is just as big!
 
What I've found before is that these guys combine the current SP with the latest installation and then claim it to be the next release... maybe that is all it is?

Thats what I hear, but the artical I read says there is an RC2 but its not going to be public... hmm Either way, I dont care myself!!! Still gonna wait for RTM.
 
LandyMan, no offence... but MS haven't compiled the RTM build yet, so there is no chance you have it yet.

Maybe in a week or two when they compile the whole build for testing... then we can talk again.... but I'm guessing the "RTM" build you have is FULL of viruses etc etc...

What are you guys talking about.. I'd assume you're joking? :confused: No ways you get the source code in any case.

This isn't RC2, it's just the name some people have given it as an internal second RC, which would be a good description but it's no real RC2 release. This is a random internal build that leaked.

And Landy we'd love to hear your build number, but it won't be the RTM. People are usually terribly confused on MyADSL about these things. :p

Been thinking about it... Vista was released Jan 2008 (to public) but the RTM was at manufacturers in Nov 2007. So thats about 5 weeks difference. If they reckon Oct for Win7 RTM, so minus 5 weeks ... and I would say End of Aug, beginning of Sept ? But you never know for sure, they keep messing with release dates !! One day its Dec 09, the next its July 09, then Oct 09 ... eish. I'm willing to buy this one!!! givme already !!!

No we don't really need to guess. :p Microsoft themselves said when they released the October 22 date that the RTM will be finished in the second half of July, so it should leak pretty much around then. Maybe before the 25th.

So what takes so long End of July to Oct 22 ?? Printing their pretty holographic disks ?? Just give me an Iso and a key !! thats all I need!

The people who distribute Windows on new PC's have to install it on thousands and test their setups so that PC's can hit shops too. Then shipping it worldwide and printing a few million copies to actually get in stores.

But RTM means release to manufacturing, it's even possible that manufacturing find a small bug and that gets fixed before the real final, although I don't think that really happens.

Well they like to launch it with marketing etc, no point in doing that if most people couldn't even get it in stores. That's why they'll leak for us.
