TY for warning

I actually just finished main game (68 hours) last night and was wondering if I should DLC or not.

Might have some small tasks left but I think for most part I completed the story and most side missions.
Big AC fan since OG AC on 360. The best one i played to date was AC Black Flag. Unity was the last one i played though. I should probably give Origins a try.

Have Black flag and Unity on PC, never played them was to busy with MMO's

For me: Origin is like an "Arcade" RPG with 2 button combat mechanic that drops loot that basically just changed the look and animation. From what I saw so far in Odyssey, its a proper RPG with actual choices linked to different outcomes and with a better combat system, with loot that actually changed your combat style.

How is that different than paying for PS Plus and still buying games on the PS Store?? GP is just much better value for money, i.e. you pay a little more, but get much more in return . I don't think it's hard to see and I say this as someone with a PS5 - GP is sorely missed

I dunno hey - I've got more games than I can play at the moment, so not sure where you coming from. Or are you one of those who don't finish games, but just like playing bit n pieces of lots of them?

And PS Plus and GP are not meant to compete, I think?

I finished Star Wars Squadrons and it was great. I would love an RPG with similar ship mechanics.
I finished it too. Spread it out to around 4 missions per day.

I have mixed feelings about the game, so I'm glad I didn't buy it after giving the trial a go in December. But I'm more glad that I didn't buy it after seeing how short it is, and because of the holy Microsoft (prayer emoji because God is good) blessing us with the game for free really.

What I liked:

* Graphics are stunning
* Piloting is awesome
* The different ships you got to pilot
* The mild customisations you could do before each mission

Mixed feelings:

* Story, it's a bit weak. It centering on a massive ship that has a massive tractor beam still puzzles me.
* The characters didn't do it for me
* Weird facial animation, but I suppose that's an EA / Frostbite thing

What I didn't like:

* Didn't take too kindly to being suspended. I always had to restart the game. If I didn't I would either have a stuttery FPS or everything was sped up.

What I appreciate:

* It supporting VR

Fortunately the pros outweighed the cons, I was really nitpicking there. Something I found really odd is sometimes, and very briefly, the FPS would drop. It wasn't around any memorable areas, like big space fights or anything. There were far more graphic intensive scenes that were as smooth as butter, so I am going to blame the lack of optimising.

Wanted to like it but I just couldn't :(

I prefer the original X-wing and Tie fighter series from back in the 90's

Mk11 ultimate on series S looks amazing, did they overhaul it for next gens ?

Damnation and apologies. I confused myself and meant the Odyssey DLC. TBH I don't know about Origins. Sorry for the misdirection.

Given that I've got a One X, I'll probably skip the Series S and get a Series X when they're more readily available and there's (maybe) some promotions on. In the meantime, any recommendations on a 28-32" sub-R10k monitor? Some that have been recommended here are not available. Presently I've got a 28" Samsung U28E590 which is nice enough, but not for the next-gen console.

LOL 2 late, but thanx for clarification.

Odyssey Gold edition was on sale and included the DLC's as well as Assassins Creed 3 remastered edition so was a no brainier for 80% off.

Might then just get the cheap R159 hidden ones later to check it out, or wait for another sale. TY anyway for trying to help.

This looks quite interesting, can't wait to see how this tech filters into their upcoming games.

I would wait on monitors at the moment, there are hardly any HDMI 2.1 supported ones

Really enjoyed the series s plus GP over the last few weeks. The storage space is an issue but I manage it by moving games over to an external when not playing them, to save having to redownload. I suspect I'd have the same issue but to a much lesser degree on the X. I still want a ps5 but gamepass is making me reconsider that, it's just such good value and I'm yet to use it on my "gaming" pc.

I have nearly hit the space limit on my X, but the extra space gives a lot more freedom. When I got mine I installed all the games I wanted to play first. Since then I've played a lot so I'm slowly cleaning up :D I have used gamepass on PC in March last year, but not since. It's a great nice to have though.

I install & play all my games off external. 1TB 5400 Laptop HDD. Only have Kodi and some other apps installed internally

To give an idea:

This pic was taken last week Monday... have since installed Odyssey and AC 3. Still have about 100 Gig left on the external.

Speed also not an issue as games load fast and quick resume still works as well.
