Samsung Galaxy S2

On a seperate note- I am using Resurrection Remix v3.1.2. I am still amazed at how smooth and responsive this ROM is! For my money, it is more responsive than iOS. I am actually drooling in anticipation for when the full Jelly Bean experience is available to us :D

Well, my screen is the main culprit (69% of overall battery use), so might be Auto Brightness sensor not working, or working too hard....can be a lot of things.

Same with me. I am interested to know why certain modems are more battery hungry than others. I know in areas with bad reception modems work harder when looking for 3G and GSM, but I've heard before that certain modems are more hungry irrespective the settings and was hoping you perhaps had an answer

Well, I think Smart Stay is my main culprit, but I just like it too much to worry about it.

I just plug in my charger and give my S2 a juice boost. Sorted.

And let's be fair to Samsung....it's a Test ROM, not final release ROM in any way. But it's remarkably stable for a Test ROM & I use it as my daily driver.

New Samsung JellyBean Test ROM....contact pictures in the new dialer looks absolutely gorgeous, but you have to reload the image for the contact.

The funny thing is, I honestly cannot put my S2 down now, it's just way too much fun to play with it. I would even go as far as to say I'm playing more with it now, then the day I got my phone.

I'm having a bit of an issue, the search function on this site is not helping either...

I'm struggling to get my apn settings on Omega Rom. If I enter it manually it doesn't get saved.

I have read online that I have to reset the APN, reboot and try again, no go for me.

Anyone else having this trouble? Is there a workaround?
Omega ROM 14.2

Mine did the same, got a new sim and the problem is fixed. I've read on other forums that the apn settigs is saved on the sim card instead of the phone with jellybean, so older sim cards does not allow this.

Between posting that reply and now I tried different SIM cards and it seems your diagnosis is correct. When I inserted a newer SIM I could get internet access, so it seems I need a new SIM.

:(

Easy money for the Vodashop owner. :(

Just switched from cm 9.1 stable to RR 3.12, because the wakelocks on cm 9.1 were killing me.
Wow rr 3.12 is much better ito of that (only lost about 3% overnight i think), and obviously jelly bean is more awesome!!

But hesitant with the leaked rom since battery life is more important that smart stay or anything like that for me.

I wonder why that is... any clues?

Also looks like the new weather widget takes a really long time to update, and sometimes does not update at all....just draining the battery in the process.

I have found that if home screen widgets struggle to update, it causes the phone to stutter a bit as well.

I am so peefed at this!

R135 for a sim swap, good heavens! You get a starter pack for 99c, what is so special on a sim swap that it justifies the extra R134?!

Anyway, it was the sim, it was just too old for JB.

Just pulled the trigger on the official Samsung extended 2000mAh battery. Got it from kalahari.com for R289.

Think I will need the extra juice when Jelly Bean officially arrives for the S2, cos I just can't leave my phone alone. :D

The worst is that you know the Vodashop owner is putting R134 in his pocket.

Omega ROM 14.2

I had the issue and the solution I found was to install a different modem.
