Download winmtr and set the host to the gaming server, or one of the gaming provider's primary servers (like eu.battle.net) and run the test for a minute or so. Then PM me the results and I'll add it to a ticket for you to investigate.

Can't say I can replicate it on my side though, so we'll need to see some data to work with in the winmtr results.

Unfortunately I can't get WinMTR to run properly. I managed to track down some ips to test and when I run them in WinMTR I get 0 response (some other web pages do work so it's not WinMTR on my pc). I can do a normal tracert, but it hits a certain point on Riot's network and returns no results afterwards.

Here are the ips and the cached pages I got them from.

192.64.170.252

185.40.65.1
185.40.66.3

Don't know if you can do anything with that info but that's whats available on the cached pages from the old forums (they recently migrated to a new system and canned the old forum).

We're really looking to see what's going on with your specific connection here, so we need to get some tracert (in our opinion, rather useless) or WinMTR/pathping data of the connection?

Can you send an email to [email protected] or hop on chat?

May I ask why you guys don't seem to trust PingPlotter graphs? A week or 2 ago when I had a problem I uploaded a PingPlotter graph as evidence on the live chat, but the person directed me to the WinMTR website and asked me to use that instead. From my testing PingPlotter, WinMTR and pathping all do the same thing and give the same results, with a PingPlotter graph it is just so much easier to see what's going on.

That person needs some, um, additional training then. :o

But it's possible that they wanted a live test run at the time of the chat for various reason as well. :)

telkom doing their thing on my line today

hoping for fix pls

Yup, we've seen it on our side too. Already popped them a ticket about it. Also seeing some weird routing from their DNS at the moment and some failures.

I've still been having hassels with Unotelly DNS messing up google & gmail imap today, and I've got nowhere with their "reset everything" support. They have escalated my query but I decided it's time to configure things properly.

I've removed Unotelly DNS as my default, and put a forward on the mikrotik for only roku. It was actually really easy haha

IP / Firewall / NAT

src: roku.ip
protocol: tcp
dst port: 53
action: dst-nat
to address: unotelly.ip
to port: 53

and the same for udp

Hi,

I only saw this now. I'll try and get back to you guys next week as some IRL stuff has taken a huge priority atm.

@CW

Telkom is saying:
1. The ASSIA profiles have been suspended in January already until further notice
2. ASSIA implementation is not the cuprit here.
3. To acquire stable 20mb service , the customer needs to be within 1.3 -1.6 kms away from the dslam
4. Web Africa is responsible for processing your order and regrading your service( Wholesale)

Which is totally incorrect as:
1. A telkom technician himself phoned through and compelted the upgraded to 20mbs
2. I had a stable connection for 1.5 weeks
3. Then it automatically went back to 10mbs

Clearly someone somewhere is lying to me.

Best of my knowledge assia is certainly still in play. As for line management, we work with WA under their license for this which is why it reflects as such from an administration perspective...

If only everything was as well oiled as CW's support.

Resetting my router and the connection seems to have fixed my latency issues.

@CW - I don't know if I missed the answer to this question but what happened to running the dual network? Is this still on the cards or has it been scrapped altogether?

Honestly I don't think you even need to run dual bandwidth across 2 backbones. If I had a say, I'd stick with IS - I haven't had a days hiccup since the switch over.

Any eta on a working portal where we can see usage? I't vital for capped accounts.

Still on the cards and very much part of the plan, but in terms of performance we certainly agree with how well our new network is performing on the IS backbone these days.

Deploying this week. As IS partners as well, we've been working with Web Africa on a few things. One of them being capped profiles which they've helped us to setup, and are assisting us in building a temp portal until ours is ready to fully deploy later. The other is DSL line management which works under their license with SAIX. So they've been spectacular in assisting us with getting the portal up and running for capped customers. Uncapped customers work on our own controllers and profiles that we setup on our network, so that part requires coding from the ground up entirely without "borrowing" code from elsewhere but should be up shortly as well. Our devs are doing an awesome job at the moment on this.
