South African chess champ taking online chess by storm

I used to think I wasn't half bad...then I played online and was completely destroyed. Now I just play when I want to feel like a complete loser :)
 
Many links on that site don't work, either "page not yet available, or page not found."
 
Does this mean that Debbie can finally take you on at a chess game rpm?
 
It is encouraging to see that local online companies are starting to compete in the international arena. One will however have to see whether they are able to take on the likes of the ICC (chessclub.com) and Chessbase (chessbase.com). The ICC has a great interface/software and offers tournaments all the time. Also many IMs and GMs playing there – always a big draw cards…
 
I just tried it out - not bad. But they will need dedicated software if they want to compete - browser based system just not fast enough.

they are moving to host local servers in various countries to improve speed, but the system will remain browser based.
 
I gave it a good spin, and while it is certainly a very good web based system it lacks certain functionality and responsiveness of systems like the ICC. They will also have to work on more tournaments etc...
