It is amazing how de-sensitized we get, hard to actually think SA is this dangerous..?

"Only Somalia, Sudan, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Chad, Liberia and Central African Republic, which all are or have been in a state of war, scored lower on safety and security. South Africa's scorecard is similar to those of Kenya and Burundi."

Not suprising at all.

I have travelled and lived in various african countries and none have compared to SA when it comes to sheer violence and disrespect for human life.

Dont get me wrong, most of africa lives by these (lack of) values but none on the scale found in SA.

It's because of Cape Town pulling us down!

Fortunately, apart from the crime problem, SA offers benefits most other African countries can only hope to achieve some time in the distant future.

Indeed, this is true, but for how long remains to be seen.

Fair enough. But until then, the benefits are there and can be utilised. I think important is to make sure of one's ability to get out of SA when the **** hits the fan and even those benefits disappear.

Surely its good enough to just relocate to a different town? :)
