Hi all, please would someone give me some advice on these two cards and compare them a little for me. I hear that the ATI's 128-bit memory bus cripples the card somewhat in games and does not give those few extra crucial frames.

They're not quite in the same price range anyway, but I doubt hybrid crossfire will bring a HD4670 up very much. What onboard do you have?
Any mobo with PCI-X supports either graphics card flawlessly. I'd say using Hybrid CF would could even cause more problems with drivers.

Okay let's get some some sanity in this thread.
The 9600GT does perform better than the 4670, but that performance comes at a price. You also need an external power connector while the 4670 doesn't.
If you're on a tight budget or have a crappy psu get the 4670. If you have an ok psu with cash get the 9600GT. Simple as that.

The 4830 probably owns it, as it competes with the 9800GT (very similar to the 9600GT I believe).
The 4830 will give better results if you're into anti-aliasing.

I have see 9600gt's going 1399, if you look at the performance gap between the 2 paying the extra 400 would be well worth it.
Its not like your gaining 10% for your 400 bucks, you sometimes gaining double the FPS, so no i would say people should rather pay in the extra cash for the 9600gt.
