Modern Warfare 2 PC price hike

So what is next? First the delay, and now the price?
Not the best PR for the most anticipated game of the year........ or should we call it next year?????
 
its Activision... They are buggering everything up ... SC2 D3 and now MW2... Whats the bet that SC2 and D3 are going to cost R500 a pop...

unless they make it into three chapters like they are doing with starcraft. each of which will carry the cost of a full game?

There is NO valid reason for them to do that to D3, SC2 I can understand wanting to ensure longetivity of the game. But for D3 I see no reason why it would be needed...
 
Well well well, all of a sudden the PC gamers can't tote their "PC games are cheaper than console games" argument anymore. The price of PC gaming is increasing to match console gaming's prices... WOOOOO! :D

and why not increase the longevity of diablo3 by including chapters? call it "expansions" if you will. why could they not make SC2 a single release and just release expansions like with SC and Broodwars?

this activision thing is turning out to be a big disappointment. if you control the biggest game companies with the biggest games in the world, you can dictate what the prices should be, and you can milk them for as long as you want.

that being said, even if they charge R900 for Diablo3 and SC2 (all 37 chapters) people will still buy it. probably me as well

Based on what?? Activision isn't the only publishers you know, most publishers are sticking to their normal pricing. When everyone does you have a point till then its irrelevant.

This means sc2 will be a budget purchase for me, had no intention of getting mw2 anyway.

PC version is still R200 cheaper, buddy. Console games are a rip-off in this country.

Megarom has announced that the PC version of Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare 2 will not retail for the previously announced R399, but in accordance with a worldwide increase, it will retail for R499.
Furthermore, because PC games are so frequently pirated, publishers have been careful not to make them too expensive.

It's just nice to stir the pot sometimes though... Console hardware is STILL cheaper than PC hardware and console owners have a pretty active second-hand market to indulge in.
 
bottomline, i am still playing MW.. over 2 years after its release.. i am more thasn prepared to fork out R 500 bucks for that amount of playtime :P

They already making tons on the Franchise. Prestige Edition for both Consoles. A possible movie. Special Modern Warfare Xbox360 Bundle. Modern Warfare 2 drinks. Modern Warfare 2 Comic Books. Modern Warfare 2 Figurines with Japanese Edition


This is too much.......Leave us PC users alone!
 
Well.... this sucks... so much for saving the PC when they do things like this.... and then they ask... why does people pirate.
Anyways still getting this game... depending on how good it is...
