As I posted on another forum
Some Points to ponder Some responses after pondering
1) Is it confirmed or merely claimed sales figures? even with a 10% variance band to account fo...even 20%, it's still impressive sales figures
2) Another article mentions only 12% of that was PC sales, and I believe the boycott was a PC gamer thing due to no dedicated servers. Yep, and not only was it only 12%, there's obviously a large % that bought, about 2% or so that committed to the boycott and from that 2% , guys that still bought it or bought it for console....
3) That other article also says that there are major issues with the xbox and PS3 versions which wil be patched. PS3 had no trophies out of the box. Patched wednesday, but then servers went down, i think it was something related to the patch, but heard they are back up
4) First day sales are not made because a game is good (people have not yet had a chance to give feedback) they are made big because of a successful advertising campaign and media hype. The advertising campaign and hype is usually built around a good game, there is so much exposure to the contents of a game before it's released that very few can say that bought it purely on advertising and hype, most titles are released as demo's (MW2 wasn't) but there was enough gameplay vid's released....looked awesome, sold awesomely and is actually awesome
So once all the hype has died down, and there is a ton of hands on reviews and relevant feedback pertaining to us in SA, then I will decide whether or not I should get this. At the moment, I am being patient and seeing what happens.
