Free South African SMS service growing quickly

with the likes of Blackberry Messenger and Iphones WhatsApp, which you can also get for blackberry btw, the sms service will die out. its an old, expensive, boring, featureless technology.
 
Did not have to go to far into their terms and conditions to find the following.

1.2 You should be aware that: (a) We may wish to send you further offers or information by mailshot, SMS text, WAP Push, email or telephone. We may want to pass your contact details to carefully selected companies both within and outside the South African Economic Area who may want to send you offers and information which may be of interest to you.

I see spam in the near future. I'll pass until the standard Terms and Conditions protect my privacy.
 
OK, well I have not yet received the confirmation SMS after 40 minutes... so maybe it's a good thing! :D

If that is how long it takes to send their SMS messages... I don't want it.
 
Their service was down recently.. I stopped using it.. but now these buggers have my details.
 
Got my code instantly and sent a few test messages. Maybe they are overloaded :)

Somehow when I hear he word "FREE" my first thought is RUNNN.

They got to make money somewhere, nothing in life is free so most likely gonna sell your information, etc etc etc, then you spend then next 5 years fighting off spammers and cell marketers.

yip SPAM = FAIL

limited to 20 SMS per day

Why o Why did i not read this thread before registering.....:cry:
 
Trouble is that it wont'd take international SMSs and it does not recognise short SMS numbers like Cape Talk 31567
 
Best way seems is to use a spare Cell phone for the activication code to be recieved and a G mail address for the registration That way it works but any spam goes to the spare (none used phone) or a Gmail address not your main one. Two can play the spam game

I also suggest you stay away from those 3#### numbers.
All those competitions on Mnet, Idols etc.
They serve the same purpose...
