Hi,
I just had an unintelligible phone call from a lady named Mpumi, claiming to be from Telkom. She was stumbling and mumbling through her sentences, and I could not make much sense of it except that I must pay R 1600 additional to the phonebill I have just paid yesterday, or I would be disconnected. I suspect that this may have something to do with my recent DSL installation. However, as I could not understand Mpumi, I asked to speak to her supervisor: "No superwiser, is not her today I is call on behalf. I help you cause you must pay before monday".
I asked again for the supervisor, it was declined again. I asked her for her name, she would not give me her surname. I asked for her employee number, and she started shouting at me. Needless to say, I did not get it: "it is nothing do with you".
Now, I did call the account department, and discovered that Mpumi was indeed from Telkom, not just some nutjob crankcaller. However, they would not give me anymore information; nor tell me where I could complain.
Does anyone know of a Telkom complaints department (I cannot find one on their website either) or must one just complain to ICASA?
greets
