Sorry if this is slightly off-topic (I am a MTN BB subscriber though), but I am at wits end with this issue:

How do you setup IM access to AOL (AIM) on a Motorola V547 handset on the MTN network? On my Nokia 6680 I simply use Agile Messenger and it works great. On my wife's Motorola V547, however, there is a built in IM client, but I can't get it working. It requires the following settings:

IM ID:
Password:
IM server:
IM port:
Post URL:
Secure Login: yes/no

For AOL-AIM, I use the following settings:

IM ID: <AIM screenname>
Password: <AIM password>
IM server: login.oscar.aol.com
IM port: 5190
Post URL: ?????
Secure Login: no

This however does not seem to work. What should the "Post URL" setting be?

Any help on this would be apreciated.

Thanks

Okay, I may be woefully wrong here, but I do not believe the built-in IM functionality on phones like the newer Motorolas, Samsungs and Nokias have anything to do with the main internet-based instant messaging setups.
I believe the phone-based ones are a network-based system, and will only work once the networks actually start in implement them.

To connect with your wife's AIM, you'll need to download and use one of the JAVA apps mentioned in this thread: http://mybroadband.co.za/vb/showthread.php?t=26254

From what I've seen and heard, mxit has the neatest interface - http://www.mxit.co.za
