ADSL ridiculously slow during the day??

Is there some international line thats down or something?

The last 2 weeks my ADSL has been ridiculously slow in the daytime.. it seems to only speed up in the evening.
I had an Mweb uncapped account, then tried an Access uncapped account as well.

My line is 1 meg.

Any ideas? I've tried rebooting/restarting my rooter etc no difference.
 
Hmmm.. the ADSL speed has always been fine, up until about 2 weeks ago. As for during the day on weekends.. I can't remember will check this weekend. But this problem did only start 2 weeks ago.. before that it was perfect.

There are a few maybe see if your area is one of them.
 
I've also recently noticed some extreme shaping on my ADSL accounts during the day times which I have never seen to such an extent before.

I'm in Prestondale, Umhlanga.

I don't think an exchange can just suddenly become 'congested'. Either that or with all these new business going up here they merged in a new DSLAM or something all of a sudden.

But it really is slow.. sometimes I wait 30 seconds for a picture to load on a page.
 
Have u tried using a capped unshaped account?
Maybe the uncapped accounts are throttled or soneone else is also using it so the speed is halved?
Otherwise its probably an overloaded exchange.
I just found all uncapped account slow in general but not that slow.
 
I'm using the Just Uncapped 1 meg service from Access for R296 a month.
It says its unshaped. I don't see any other restrictions though. It has the rolling policy but I've only downloaded about 10 gigs of stuff.

It doesn't take much to get throttled on Axxess.
