Hey Guys,

I just recently signed up for an ADSL account with NexusISP after my bro saw them on Helkom.co.za - they have an ad running at the top of the main page.

Anyone else know anything about them or tried them even? They seem to be one of the cheapest at the mo and are fairly decent and friendly, unlike some of the cheaper ISP's I've dealt with in the past.

I bought 3gb, and they offer a top-up type system - ie, you can buy more when you run out half way through the month. And their top-up price is cheap too. Apparently when you are capped you still have access to the site and the control panel to top-up.....

Penny for you thoughts?

Havent had personal experience with them, neither have i heard good or bad comments about them. I think most people would stick to more well known ISP's, like Openweb or WebAfrica, which offer great support aswell..

You're correct, when ur capped, you still have access to their site and control panel to purchase more BW..

Just my thoughts.. 1 penny please? :P
 
Paid R229.00 for the 3GB and then R95.00/extra GB on the top-up system. They have a pricelist on http://www.nexusisp.co.za/adsl.html

Its a SAIX account. I asked if they have IS accounts and they said they are trying to sort that out - with that whole saga around Telkom and IS they wanted to wait until things settle before they provide their customers with the service.

Mind you I've also had a bad experience there. I guess every company will have a handful of bad stories *shrug*

PostmanPot, why? If these guys offer competitive pricing together with good service..... Surely supporting what seems to be an honest attempt at a startup in the very cut-throat ISP industry is a good thing. Guys like these are the ones helping to drive pricing wars in my opinion. What do I really have to lose in buying a cheap service from them? I think more people supporting them and other cheaper guys makes WebAfrica and OpenWeb quiver in their boots - even a little, or rather keeps them on top of their game. :p

WebAfrica only grew as fast as it did because of the promotion it ran when it jumped on the 30GB-Bandwagon half way through last year....didn't they? Can't say I know much about OpenWeb though. :confused:

No unfortunatly not. If I could leave my day job to work for an ISP i probably would. Free ADSL!! w000t! :D

No, kidding, I'm with Thasa Tech a software company. We've moved all of our Travel agents running our online travel software over to Nexus's Tomcat servers. We're pretty happy so far.

Webafrica is R 199 for the 3gb package and R 75 to top up. They've been the best for me so far:) :)
 
Me either, though admittedly I've often wondered if I could pull snakeskin boots off:

Thats just ugly - unless you're chuck norris or something. You gotta have the blue jean-pants and matching hat to go with it.

Rather NexusISP tho - they said they might be running a special next month or something. I chatted with the one dude - he didn't wanna say what it entailed though.
 
Seriously considering giving NexusISP.

Have been with OpenWeb for a few months now, and have no complaints, but with them only offering IS accounts from April, I have to look elsewhere.

Based on what I read here about IS speed/access problems, I cannot risk being in the middle of an IS and Telkom(SAIX) fight.
