Playboy TV content isn't porn says TopTV

Waiting for somebody to come in here and say "What's the point then?" :D

Smut... smut... smut... isn't there enough on the internet?

Same as that soft porn on ETV??? BOOOORRRINNGGGGG!

:p
Rofl yeah, 'Emmanuel' I think it was called. Eeek. Was soo bad and pointless. If people want pr0n, they should search the interwebz. If they can't, then it's time they invest in a PC.

sheesh by search you mean go to any search engine and type in boob/porn.

Nope, I didn't single it down to a common search engine - by 'search' I mean having to actually do some work to find something selectively more appropriate for you, rather than having something generic and boring streamed to you on TV.
I actually think finding quality porn online is a skill in itself. You need to know how to search, what you're searching for, and you need to be in the right place. Unless you're easily satisfied by a daily dose of Pornhub like 90% of the porn-watching population, you'll see that finding quality is not so easy... been there, done that, and now I look at the common "pornhub" stuff and think "wow, what a waste of time... to think that 90% of people think this **** is good"... Not to mention the buffering for 240p content (EEEEK), when you could rather leave an HD clip to download overnight *hint*. But, I think I'll stop there and let people get on with life typically. hehe :)

Not my cuppa tea but it's never been about the content really, like the article said its about having choice.
Only later on it became an issue with Icasa thinking they have the right to censor and decide on our behalf.

ICASA said that their council will discuss the issue this week, and after it went through the legal processes TopTV will be provided with reasons for their decision.

Of course the right way of doing things is to first have a reason, and then make a decision. Not make a decision, and then scramble to find a reason. But this is SA and this is ICASA, and "the right way" is an alien concept.

I am willing to bet that some MultiChoice cash was involved in stopping the pr0n channels. I suspect the pr0n would have pulled loads of subscribers to TopTV.

TopTV should stop wasting their time and take this straight to the concourt which will show icasa a toffee!

HA ha ha, SPIN>>>>>!!

"OK, so if the word porn is mentioned it seems to be a magical elixer that gets ICASA in gear - from now on the word porn is banned at TopTV. So lets try again, but just call it adult entertainment"

I would back them, but not after they were all holier than thou about porn before they tried to launch these channels. TopTV and Multichoice can jump - VoD is going to displace both of them soon enough.
