Unless this is well below R1,000 , I don't really see the point of it. They can't simply set it at a price-level of R999.

Ackerman's are selling (on MTN) the Galaxy Y for R1,200 until the end of this month. Much the same specs.
After that, the Y's bound to come down in price as well from the other retailers, especially when the Duos is introduced.

Furthermore, all these cheap Samsung's should have made the Vodafone 858 obsolete, but Vodacom are still stocking it in their shops, and at other retailers, for R799. It should drop to about R400 - R500 now.

I ve been at this Y Pro Duos on the net. Do we have it in the country and who is selling it?

I really do need a bigger screen. Typing on a screen that small would be a no no for me.

BTW no mention of actual RAM?

To get uptake and be successful, the price this is set at will be crucial. Free downloads are great, but with the limit to local artists, it isn't going to compete with other offerings.

How do you know that it will be only local artists? Will it include famous local artists?
