Some of us also want data on our phones... so this is a relatively nice deal for those of us who have phones with Vodacom.

I have an 8ta data contract but also have a Vodacom data only data contract (and a Cell C one, thanks to Lets Talk Geek) for the times when I'm out of 8ta's coverage area.

The 2 and 1gb thing is affordable, for those who dont use more than 1 or 2gb of internet per month.

Only, IIRC, these deals aren't available as bolt-on packages to existing contracts.

Feb 2013 is my last month with this company. Been with them since the beginning. Tired of being shafted.

This deal is not available as a bolt-on for your phone.

I have a Virgin Mobile phone contract that expires in November and will move onto prepaid afterwards with whoever has the cheapest prepaid data. Looks like that will be 8ta if they keep selling their 2GB+1GB for R149. I would have to spend over R250 just for 1GB of prepaid data with any of the other providers. So 8ta wins the prepaid wars. (Already have the 10GB for R199 contract)

I reckon I might just move all my accounts to 8ta.
One of my best friends did it recently (moved from mtn to 8ta, ironically) and he says he's saving over R800 a month.
He lives in Irene, Centurion.
