Samsung Galaxy S3: SA pricing revealed

R9000 is stiff! Atleast vodacom is giving 250mb/month unlike mtn with 75mb on one x

contract pricing doesnt look good enough, some credit every month shud do the trick (anytime contract 200 or top up 275)

I would rather get the HTC One X from MTN, simply because you get it on a TopUp contract, not this "rip me off later because we cannot fix our billing system" contract.

Why can TopUp stop you from going OOB, yet on contract you get a R2000 surprise bill?

i think you get r200 a month with the one x at mtn, u can buy plenty of data with that.

i have topup 275 on iphone4 , you get an sms when ur bundle is out and a repeat sms to say u using ur credit, plus with r275 i can buy prepaid data whenever i need.

Any way you look at it, we are being ripped off. I would rather wait 6 months when the price drops.

Some nice android tablets coming out over the next couple months, rather spend your money there, they might even be cheaper.

LOL!

Probably some more tax needs to added, and ofc, whats the point of selling it without profit.

Um, he is quoting the actual retail, I am sure Samsung SA doesn't sell it to retailers here at the overseas retail price, no, they get reseller prices.

he is probably looking at how much it would cost to import.

I reckon samsung sells it to retailers here for R4000-R4500 per unit.

~R9000.00??? http://www.expansys.com/android-smartphones/ 433.33GBP + 21.95GBP(rest of the world shipping 3-4 days) = 455.28GBP X 13.03 exchange rate = R5 932.30 + 14% v.a.t.= R6 762.82.Anyone know of any import duties and handling fees that might be/could be added here?

AFAIK you'd first be charged duty at 10% before VAT so it would be R5932.30 * 1.10 * 1.14 = R7439.10

Expansys 's SA store is selling them at R8,409.99

Oh and the cheapest S III that shows up for me on the uk expansys is 515GBP* 13.03 * 1.10 *1.14 = R8414.90

For R9000.00 I'll rather by a decent Laptop... This is not value for money ... This is daylight robbery .. When new handset are released older models should drop in price to make way for newer models at reasonable prices .. Soon we will be paying R10 000 plus for new handsets and believe that its value for our hard earned money.

I saw an S3 yesterday. It was simply beautiful. Smooth. Feature rich and probably well worth the money being asked. Still a steep price for most, though.

no no no 9G for a phone, ah ah something is running away loose here and the shareholders are warming their hands in glee with huge expectations at the annual companies's performances.
