Suspended Manhunt 2 too violent for Sony and Nintendo

Screw the hippies, I want this game. People are merely scared of it because they are unable to separate fiction from reality. Let's just hope it comes out for PC, at least. I played the first one and can't wait for the second.

From what i have seen of this game it is very very violent
i think what people are affraid of is this game landing in the wrong hands of young children,Which i dont blame them...This game is bad when it comes to violence and i wouldnt want this game landing into my childs hands.
Even if Take two do release this game with AO rating, It prolly will definatly find its way into younger hands and thats what the community's are afraid of.

but there a difference from actaully watching violence on TV then actaully taking part in violence.
Would u want your 12 year old play a game and watching him chop up people's body parts?
sony didnt want this as with the remote you would need to swing the wii remote like u would have to swing a normal axe or sharp wepon.

I'm glad they stopped it. While I do believe it's peoples rights to play whatever they want, the PS2 and Wii are considered family systems.

Why wouldnt anybody not want to not play this game? I know I do.... ESPECIALLY since the whole banning thing.... I like to think that I am a pretty balanced guy... playing the game will NOT make me wanna take an axe to my neighbours head... There is nothing wrong with a little violence.

AO rating will be fine,Cos our minds can handle it logically,But given to a child of 11 years old this game could cos problems...

As for not wanting to play this game well some people don't enjoy grotesque, graphic and mindless violence.

ok... think of it from a release or an escape from reality. where as you can't cut people up, or stab them with a pen(although i have been stabbed with a pen, my hands bare the scares) coz you'll be going to jail, and then you ass will because the poker pen ...But with these games, you can like stab people because you feeling tense from the whole of society. you can go ape shyte, and kill people because there's that knowing of not getting into trouble.
But yes kids must stay far away from it, as there perception of reality and the game word will get mixed up.
I mean i saw my friends brother (17) crash his mom's car (he was wasted), he got out and was wondering where the restart button was. Now this makes sense as he plays loads of games, and racing games have restart... so.
...But with these games, you can like stab people because you feeling tense from the whole of society. you can go ape shyte, and kill people because there's that knowing of not getting into trouble. I think the big mix up here is that Rockstar are the one's that made the massive F up trying to play kids against their parents. Why release, what is very obviously a mature titles only on "family friendly" platforms? Because their primary target market is kids with a sense of morbid curiosity. Now that's come around and bit them on the backside.
If they were serious about it as "art" or a mature title, they would have released it on PC, where they have 100% creative freedom, or even tried a 360 release as it has the "more mature" audience.
So they've been busted for trying to sell cigarette's to preschoolers, and I for one am glad.

Manhunt 2 on course for local release
The early July South African release date for Rockstar Games's Manhunt 2 has been tentatively suspended until the beginning of August after several countries in Europe banned the video game, citing an excess of violence and adult content.
Decision expected shortly
The Film and Publications Board, which handles decisions regarding ratings and release of video games in South Africa, has not yet made a decision on whether Manhunt 2 will be released.

"Right now we're waiting on the Film and Publications Boards to decide whether the game can be released in South Africa," said Nadine Pillay, product manger for the game's distributor, Ster Kinekor Games. "We can't move forward with a definite date until that announcement."
Italy is the latest country to join the list of countries that have banned Manhunt 2 from public release. Despite the bans, Pillay said the decisions of other countries were unlikely to impact on the game's release in South Africa.
"It's happened before that a game was banned in the UK and in the States and released in South Africa, so I don't think they'll be riding on the back of that decision."

If the game is banned in most locations, the publishers will not release it in others because of cost issues of replicating the disks. So yes, maybe there will be some copies already printed and maybe you'll be able to find
a Russian or a Vietnamese version of the game, but unless its released
in a major western country it will be very rare to find.
SA is a very violent country. So if anywhere the game should be banned here, if assuming the violence in the game will lead to more violence in reality. Assuming that would be game-copy-cats take into consideration the
relative scarcity of police resources in SA and the fact that violent crime
is not punished in SA as harshly as elsewhere, it could mean that if the
game does lead to real-life-violence, there woule be more of that here.
