Still waiting for feedback on the first issue (whether all existing contracts will be migrated to the new price). It looks like it is indeed a zero rated service (for now)...no restrictions. If anything changes we will definitely report it...So it has been confirmed that:

I am still struggling with the whole blackberry concept. Surely if you have a cellphone with mail capabilities, you do not need a blackberry, or does it make use of Push technology? Also, can you hook corporate e-mail addresses to your blackberry device?
I decided to migrate the missus and myself over via vodacom4me.co.za rather than take the chance because at that stage I was definitely still on the more expensive one.
I wonder if vodacom is using the relatively small pool of blackberry users and testing the waters for something.
It makes very good use of push technology. Companies like them for their enterprise integration as well as the ability to pretty much lock em down as tight as they want.
Then get one with your next upgrade (depending on your package it might be free).

Fair usage policy of 1gig? what does that mean?
Does that mean that the bandwidth is unlimited but its ethical to only use 1gig, or does that mean there is still a cap of sorts in place, like a soft cap?

It means you can't abuse the unlimited internet... if it's restricted to device specific use... it'd be difficult to justify using more than 1GB on your cellphone... even for pron.
Not entirely sure - have a look for info regarding Blackberry Enterprise Server (BES). I use BIS.

I'm still confused. Why would I need to justify anything to anybody. If I want to download 20gig on my cellphone I don't have to justify anything.
Is it an agreement I would have to sign, like a clause? Whats the point of offering unlimited usage if you have to agree to only use 1gig.
Thats like Telkom saying the R199 dobroadband gives you unlimited downloading, but you have to sign a fair usage policy to only use 1 gig. Whats the point. Its the same at the end of the day, only it looks good from a marketing point of view.

I just got a 8310 aka Curue about 10 days ago and must say that i am extremely happy with it, really awesome little device. (about to sell my P990i
)I connected it to my laptop (windows xp) as a modem no problem.
Used Vodacom Mobile Connect ver. 9.2.1 via USB (no bluetooth on laptop) just pluged in and VMC picked it up no problem and hit connect.

Probably cause they have a warehouse full of them to get rid of.
GPRS/EDGE speed i.e. not really broadband.
