    Default Cancelling BIS

    I have a question.

If I have BIS activated on my contract and I get a phone that can't use BIS can I cancel BIS?

Thats a good question. Please do let me know the answer once you find out.

Just to clarify, are you on MTN or Vodacom?

I asked a similar question here - but it was more from a changing to bes perspective.

I am on an Anytime 500 deal with Included BIS. Although at the moment I don't plan on going anywhere, a lot can happen in two years so I would like to know what happens if I cancel the BIS.

You should be able to cancel it, it's just as VAS. Unless its like a blackberry contract, then you're screwed.

    It's a MTN contract.

My brother took out the Curve 8520 on MTN 100 for R149 per month on a upgrade.

They told him that the new upgrade will only be activated on the 13th of October. He then ask them if they could add BIS to his package just until the new contract kicks in with the free BIS.

They said fine, they can do it. Now he heard that they can't remove the BIS from the package even though hes got BIS included. So now he has 2 x BIS on one contract.

    I think it's BS.

    That would be BIS.

The BIS Bolt on he would have added can defiantely be removed. If you call them a day or two before the end of the billing cycle, request removal of the BIS Bolt-On Service it IS possible. In my oppinion, MTN should be smart enough to automatically remove it.

I am in a similar situation. I upgraded my Procall 120 with BIS add on and had to move to the Anytime 500 with included BIS. I can only assume that MTN will cancel my BIS add on and activate the included BIS once the new contract kicks in. If they don't - then they are idiots and I will refuse to pay for the same service twice.

I think confusion could be coming in the fact people thinks he wants to cancel the BIS included in his R149 per month deal.
