Good deal for a Laptop under R16k?

I'm trying to find a good laptop for work, preferably under R10 000, and I've come across this one:

Do you think this is a good deal, or can I get something better? It will be used mostly for Photoshop and similar programs, so I need to have a relatively good graphics card and lots of memory. I don't really care about the size of the screen since it will be plugged into a CRT monitor most of the time anyway.

Any advice would be appreciated.

A little bit cheaper than the Asus, but with a 512mb GeForce BUT better CPU!

EDIT: Actually it is about the same price I see now! I thought the Asus was 10K!!!!

Why do you NEED a laptop?

You could get a Photoshop monster desktop system for the same price!

In my experience the CPU and system RAM make more of an impact on Photoshop that the graphics card does. It depends really what you are hoping to do. Yes, certain plugins and filters can make use of the GPU, and Photoshop CS4 can actually use the GPU, but laptops featuring supported GPU chipsets will set you back around 20K-30K!!!

Other 3D applications would definitely need the graphics power and here it makes a difference. Here again, you will be looking at a 20K laptop price tag at least.

Unless you NEED the mobility, look at a desktop for Photoshop and graphics work for under 10K......
 
Believe me, I absolutely DESPISE the thought of buying a laptop, and that's why I'm not willing to spend more on it. Unfortunately I have to get it for work, so if I can at least get something half decent that would be great.

PS. I will probably be asking for advice regarding a new gaming PC next week, because I do plan to get one. ;)
 
I'm upping my budget.

I have changed my mind regarding this whole thing, and I'm now looking into this laptop. Can anyone recommend something better for a similar price, or maybe slightly more?
