Openweb uncapped, unshaped 4 Mbps ADSL after hours account: R799

Ja, this is just a once off mini special for this month, no?

Basically the same as their uncapped express account?

Yeah, almost certainly R100 knocked off the price of the usual Uncapped Express (with Satellite int.).
 
Well... Looking at the fact that it's already the 8th... it should cost R750, when compared to the Express+ account from Axxess (looking at the fact that 25% of the month has already passed). Taking that into consideration, Openweb would probably be making a bigger profit off this by intorducing it now (with a lower daytime cap) than Axxess does.

Well marketed. Seems cheap, but after some thought it's actually less worth it than an Express+ account from Axxess.

Openweb seems to launch a new product every day that conflicts with the next?
 
Uhh, you should probably check your facts before posting articles. This is one of Openweb's limited offers - the email stated quite clearly the accounts were until the end of June and not renewable.

I think there's quite a big difference between mweb's shaped uncapped and an unshaped uncapped account. But ya. :/

I need my speed all the time, that's why I pay over R400 a month for my line.

ISP's: please stop dicking around with all this bleeding marketing malarky and just give me a tiered per gig rate and I will pay for what I use. Dammit.

There is no way on earth you can compare those two accounts. The OpenWeb account will outperform that Mweb account by more than 100%.

I have Mweb's one and the only things that are shaped are file sharing sites and torrent. (That I have noticed) The rest is excellent. To be limited to 192K or whatever it was, is now outdated and should be scrapped. Especially since the openweb account is more expensive than the Mweb one. Makes no sense to me.
 
No mention is made of what actually constitutes after hours. On their website they only show the different speeds for "Office Hours" and "After Hours". In small print at the bottom they indicate 19:30 to 07:30 in the morning. Office Hours are 8 AM to 5 PM, no?

Is the openweb one with IS? If so please!!!! IS ones are poor performance in comparison. I have an IS Uncapped and Unshapped at the office and my home one is better.

Yes, they are with IS... I have been doing about 900 Gigs to 1 Terabyte a month for the last year and more.
How many Gigs do you get a month with that Mweb account?

In my experience they run from 7:05 pm to 8:15 am :)

The term "office hours" should rather refer to "peak hours" (and there are a lot of people that do work to 7 pm) :p

i dont agree i get on mweb shaped account full speeds the whole day (i'm stuck on a 3mb line) but still get full line speed on p2p , so i dont think openweb can actually compete, i have had the axxess+ account and during the week only managed to get about 13gb , now i'm getting about 24gb a day during the week
 
All I want is a reasonably priced internet like the rest of the world - uncapped, unshapped and a near 10mb speed.

Um, I think you guys are getting confused about which OpenWeb Uncapped Account this is.
This is not the same as the el Cheapo OpenWeb Uncapped for R530 or whatever.
These are based on the IS Uncapped Express+ Fibre accounts which typically go for R999 (Axxess) to R1300 (OpenWeb).

The performance on these accounts is vastly superior to the cheaper uncapped accounts.

i know which accounts these run on, but value for money mweb is still better and cheaper with their shaped accounts, people who use the express do heavy donwloading during nights and weekends, but like i'm saying is that u can do excat sma ea mount of data traffic if not more on mweb so why waist extra money.

I dont base my performance of my account by how many Gigs I download. When I want the bandwidth it is there with Mweb. When I want the bandwidth from IS, I have to do some begging. Mweb's give me full speed the whole day all day 24X7X365. Why would I take a Openweb/IS one when it is more expensive and I am rate limited during the day to some silly speed and Mweb not?
