Cell C’s 4G network claims

I believe that the CELL C CEO should just admit he was wrong and specify the correct standard that their data network will operate on.
Instead, it seems that they are rolling out a marketing campaign around the incorrect statement he made - thats abit shameful

I say... Go For It Cell C !!

make us proud and force the others to lower their prices too !

Yea, but that is nothing compared to my 1GB/s internet connection.

Oh, I did not mean to confuse you, that is my One Gigabyte per season connection :D

Cell C and their 4G fail. Lets hope the rest of their network lives up to the hype, we can do with a shakeup in our mobile data market.

Cell C CEO Lars Reichelt tries to explain why he incorrectly called their network 4G and convince us he's not an idiot.

*Unconvinced*

All good and well these "fast" mobile connections, but cost of bandwidth just about makes it useless.

Cell C - listen to me closely.
On 3G, We don't care if we download at 3.2Mbps, 7.2Mbps, or 22Mbps, or 1000GBps - We care about the cost of bundles.
So we will forgive you if you don't get 21Mbps speeds - seriously, no worries!

But.........We won't even look at your network if it isn't cheaper, as Vodacom and MTN ALREADY have a fully functional network.

So what if one can download at 16Mbps - doesn't help me if I'm paying a fortune for every little Gig

Got it? Now get to work on better prices of lose your R7 Billion investment.

a VW/Mazda/Honda/Opel goes R120 - 200kmph, and costs 1 litre per 12km
a Jet-engine Dragster running on Jetfuel goes 600kmph, and costs 1 litre per 0.002km

which do you see us traveling with on a daily basis?

Hmm...if you read the other articles published on mybb they're WAY cheaper than the competition.

bla blaa bla blaa bla blaa

Just bring on the product offerings already!

Fixed it for you :)

I really hope they cause a stir in the market, but I remember how great their entry into the market was when they first started. Tons of hype then.... nothing.

Keeper, they are giving the Jet engine @ 21000kmph for 1999 litre for a whole 12 months.

Did you not see the poster?? R20 a gig....beat that....

Cell C’s new 21 Mbps HSPA+ network, coupled with its drive to put the customer at the centre of its operations, is likely to make Vodacom and MTN sit up and take note.

I don't care if the CEO made a marketing mistake. THIS IS THE TYPE OF MANAGEMENT/ATTITUDE NEEDED AT TELKOM TOO!! +10000000 for Cell C!

For the love of FSG, can the networks just provide a cheap smartphone type data package already?! I want to use my Android phone the way it's supposed to be used, wihtout worrying about R2 / MB data charges. I'll pay R50 or even R100 a month for uncapped, on the phone only type access. If BlackBerry can do it, surely they can provide it for other phones as well.
