Telephone Preference Service - How to remove evil SMS / Telephone campaigns

I just had another telemarketer call me.

I asked him to please remove me from his calling list and then I asked if there is not a "single" place where I can have my name removed for all the OPT OUT sms/telephone campaigns.

He mentioned the Telephone Preference Service which I have now Googled but cannot find in South Africa and I was wondering if you anyone knows of this?

Vicious loop as you cannot even google it ;) but yeah, would be nice to know. I also get these all the time. Very irritating.

Check out your setting on your Internet banking. I noticed the other day that they have an automated tick next to "provide your information to third party companies". I removed this tick very quickly!:mad:
 
I called up ABSA and they assured me there is no setting like this with ABSA and that they are not allowed to share any information about me with third parties. Who are you banking with? Other people using your bank should know about this too.
