Bowers & Wilkins P5 from Dion for R1500. For some reason they are half price in SA compared to everywhere else. Complete bargain.

Get the 598. The PC360 is similar to a 555 or 595 I believe, only closed which probably means you won't get that great soundstage.

Qualification: I haven't actually listened to a PC360 but I have the HD 598 and I'm just going by web comparisons...

PC360 are open. HD555's with a mic. HD598 are better. Remember they're open so people in the same room or even the next will hear you.

Hey all, thought I'd post some pics of the PC-360's. After seeing that they were 50Ohm and similar design to HD5xx, I had my suspicions they were using similar/same drivers to >HD555. Well it turns out the PC-360's are virtually identical to the HD555's, with the addition of a mic and volume control.

Connected to an entry Asus sound card with Dolby Headphone for virtual surround sound, these will blow any crappy Razer/Logitech/Corsair/CM "gaming" headsets away, regardless how many individual speakers they fit in each can. :D

And they will certainly be much better for music, than the PC-350's were.

Enjoy!

If you want closed then go for the Beyerdynamic DT 770 Pro's they go for around R1800 and sound insane. They have very good bass and excellent isolation as well as velour ear pads so are very comfortable. Best money I ever spent :D

I would have chosen the 598's but just can't handle that much sound leakage.

The M50's are not available in SA, the only place that sells something similar(EU variant) charges over R3000 for them.

The BD DT 770's are available along with the replacement pads locally and the company that sells them are a legend. Great customer service and really friendly guys.

They are bringing out a special edition of the DT 770's soon as well, not sure what will change but they look cool.

Give them a shout as they have other models as well but these 770's will last forever. Sennheiser and their cracking headphones should pay attention here :D

for gaming and listening to music , hmm I now have a choice between the bose qc-15's and the hd598's im really torn between the two :/
