R150 headphones + Laptop sound card

Hi all,

I need some headphones to listen to music. I don't need a microphone attached to the headphones. Best quality headphones for R150. Any recommendations?

Also, I need a good sound card for my laptop. My laptop doesn't have a PCMCIA slot so the PCMCIA Sound Blaster® Audigy® 2 ZS Notebook sound card isn't going to work :-( . I had a look at the USB Sound Blaster Audigy 2 NX which looks quite good, but doesn't have THX certification :-( . I want to use the sound card with Logitech Z-5500 speakers. Any recommendations?

I got a set of Altec Lansing headphones for 140 and they pretty good with a mic attached. THX certification doesnt mean much unless you gonna go a THX setup and then get the lucasfilm guys out to certify you. Unless you a real Hi Fi buff you not going to notice the diff between THX rated and the USB Audigy. All you need is sound reproduction thats clear and has good frequency range seeing as you have logitechs I presume you like the bass heavy setup so most mid to high end sound cards will do.

I don't have Z-5500's yet. I'm just planning on getting a set because I heard they are good. I also heard that they are really bass heavy though. I don't like too much bass. I just thought I could turn it down a lot. Do you think I should rather get other speakers?
 
Even with the bass turned down the Z-5500s sound bass heavy. I have a 5 year old set of Cambridge Soundworks' that I rufuse to upgrade (the Henry Kloss ones) the ony set I find matches them are Altec Lansings but they hard to find these days.
