Last night my speeds were CRAP!!!! If I ran a Speedtest.net test, it said that I was getting 3.4mbps down, but anything I tried to download (in Grabbit, etc.) was running at 8/12/0/15/0/8 Kbps!!! Madness! i was getting better than that when I still have a 384 connection. Let's hope it was because they were upgrading my exchange...

I'm 3 km from exchange and had issue at 1Mbps. It's the line (50m) from the road to my house that is damaged! :(

Table View, CT. supports 10 Mbps. But telkom wont upgrade if asked. "It will be done when its done" So its a luck of the draw, even if the exchange does support it.

I'm in Parklands, CT (just north of Table View) - supports 10Mbps, but I'm synced at 6Mbps. I've tried reconnecting several times over the last few days, but it hasn't sync'd higher than that.

I live in Tableview (021-557-****) and still nothing. I phoned Telkom yesterday and they said that my exchange does not support 10Mbps yet, nor can they give me ANY idea if and when it will be upgraded. What tel. numbers are you on? Is there anybody out there on 021-557.... who have been upgraded?

I'm 021-556-****

Not sure how it works - maybe that means I'm on a Parklands exchange?

All quiet on the "Western Front"?

Is that it? It all seems to have gone pretty quiet about this. What about us poor sods who did not get upgraded? Is there still hope?

"Apparently" they're still busy upgrading, but clearly the pace/urgency has dropped dramatically. In mid-August I managed to get hold of the project manager for my area (Wilro Park -- 011-768-xxxx) and he said they were scheduled to do the upgrade for my exchange on 15 September 2010, and that he'd make sure I was the first customer to be upgraded... What a 'YAY, Go Telkom' Prospect! Well, naturally, it's already 5 days past that now and still no sign whatsoever of an upgrade - so Telkom are really slacking it seem: they're just not the company they used to be (I guess because they can't afford to rip us off so badly any more with all the competition in their face now)... They'll give you a date, and if you're lucky the job will get done on that date 1 year later?

Very little news on this front - nothing actually. Very few people upgraded as far as I can see...

It appears to me that this entire "upgrade" project was simply a PR exercise. I have now been told by a Telkom "engineer" that residential ADSL access was worked out to provide browsing capability (read 384 kbs) only, and that Telkom has no intention of upgrading those networks. I do not know how they decide which are worthy of an upgrade, but I think if you live in a tucked away suburb you can probably forget about it, even if a major centre is just down the road from you.

Was still syncing at 4 so had to call 0800375375 to get them to reset me. Now syncing at 8Mb down and 635kb up.

When did this happen? This is the sort of thing I would like to know about - are there people out there who are still being upgraded? Still nothing on my side - 021-557 - Tableview, Cape Town.

I have been checking my line result on my router. For 3 days it said 10megs and most others it says 8megs. Is this fluctaution normal?
