ADSL pre-paid internet bandwidth

Any ISP's out there offering the following or better?

Unshaped data at R69 per Gig
5 concurrent connections
Fast download speeds (line dependant obviously)
Free software sharing (not sure what this is about??)
E-mail
Data valid for 12 months
Easy data top up

All I need to have is a standard DSL service with the self install option and a ADSL modem/router.
 
Please don't use the ISP's email facilities.
Otherwise you have to change your email address when you change ISP's.
Get a gmail account.
 
Firstly, normally shaped prepaid sells for R70 so looking for unshaped prepaid for R69 is maybe pushing the price a little.

That being said, you can get 1GB for R55 per GB from Axxess HOWEVER this is on a 626 account which only works between 18h00 and 06h00 and all weekend long. Apart from being time limited, it is also restricted to 1 concurrent connection.

Other than that there are the usual semi-shaped and unshaped prepaid which usually sell for ~ R70 and R120 per GB respectively. These allow 4 concurrent connections.

The closest account to what you are looking for is then the R70 semi-shaped with 4 concurrent connections.

All Axxess prepaid is valid for 12 months.

As far as WebAfrica goes, thier data never expires, but do not offer semi-shaped prepaid. Thier unshaped goes for R125 a GB and allows 4 concurrent connections.

I have a gmail account. Not interested in an ISP email account.

BTW, how does concurrent connections work? I presume more are better?

I have seen the prices on http://www.axxess.co.za/prepaid.php and was wondering who is cheaper.

I got the info in my opening post here. The big question is where they get their bandwidth from. They have not launched for the public yet.

I would like to sign up for ADSL but I hate paying for the Phone Line + ADSL Line Rental. :mad:

I never thought that I would look at ADSL, but after Neotel's disappointing coverage & performance I have no choice. Getting fed up with MTN's data billing as well. :sick:

They offer a wide variety of options, including great options for night time downloading and one can "grow" ones cap by 3mb/day for life (costs R19/m)

Look around at the various options on their site. Also, if the line is through them (as opposed to Telkom) one can save 10% on the line cost. They handle the transfer, so there is no PT there.

Remember that "growing your cap" by 3MB/day ONLY starts after like a year or something... I'm with Cybersmart and they are very particular about this when they describe the service.

Yes, you are quite right, you start off by being able to grow by 1MB/day, after 6 months with them 2MB/day and after 2 years by 3MB/day
