Afrihost's ping for everything in comparison to webafrica is so damn awful. Why?

The MTN network has awful routing. Why can IS-based ISPs route via Durban and not have to travel all the way across the country to Cape Town? The infrastructure for IS is so much better than MTN.

Getting major stuttering on Hero's of the Storm. Ping doesnt seem to show too much deviation however. With a Webafrica account no issues at all.
We have international breakouts in Durban and Cape Town (over EASSy and WACS). If you're in KZN you should be routing directly over EASSy. What time did you run these tests?
If ISP accounts are performing differently, it's usually a question of latency. When you say no deviation, what is the destination latency you're seeing?

I generally run a ping window to a well known EU website on my PC while I play so I can see if anyone in the house is downloading, ISP issues, or anything funky is going on (exchange issues etc).
Ping looked pretty similar to what I normally see. Last night however I experienced permanent micro-stuttering in game with the Afrihost account.
If you're pinging a different IP to the server you're playing on, it could indicate something else. The latency could be in game due to load on the server or some other issue with the host.

For the past few days, my p2p speeds have been really bad - even on well seeded downloads.
Things i have tried:
Port recreates
Made sure that business optimisation is deactivated onn CZ
Tried another router
What i have noticed:
Speeds increase after about 12 at night.
Speedtests wonky during the day but nice late at night.
Anything you can do?
Speedtests at moment are good but p2p crap.

I doubt either very much, as I said a webafrica account worked fine.
I'll try investigate further and see if I can trace if there are issues upstream (Afrihost vs Webafrica) when I get the issue again.

The network looked pretty quiet then, definitely shouldn't have been any latency spikes up there.
Can you run another test tonight to see if this is a recurring issue?
It is always like that day in day out.
What's strange is that your local network is different on the traces. Our trace shows ping to 10.0.0.2 (your router in most cases) and the other trace does not. How are you switching accounts to test?

If it's passthrough it should generally be fine, but just remember that passthrough goes through device while other devices remain connected to the router on the primary account. So there could be contention if you're running both accounts at the same time and some devices are receiving data like updates.
