Avoid Afrihost
... and yet another empty promise that came to nothing.
Been trying since 14 Oct 2017 to get a fibre upgrade from 10mbps to 20mbps. Despite following up weekly with Afrihost, and embarrassing them endless in this forum, I could not manage to get them to do anything. Neither did support tickets or phone calls produce anything but empty promises from a whole horde of their representatives.
The upgrade was an attempt to work around their absolutely pathetic international bandwidth, which seems to be very consistently limited to 1.3mbps on a 10mbps line. This was always the case, no exceptions. Their 10mbps fibre is literally much slower than the 10mbps ADSL with Vox that I had before them, for international bandwidth. It's not some problem, as their representatives here have implied - it's the Afrihost Normal.
Today I finally gave up and cancelled this line. If you are reading this, please heed the warning to avoid Afrihost. Dealing with them is like dealing with a bank. They are completely useless.
Trying RSAWeb next. Let's see how that goes.
That's really not cool. Our Team is working to get this resolved as quickly as possible.
