Afrihost Mobile Delivery Feedback Thread

8000 signups. R145 per sign up. That's R1.16 million.
and 5000 free devices at an apparent cost of R1,000 each = R5,000,000. Their margins are low (best priced mobile data on the market), assuming no cancellations, it will still take a while to recoup the initial costs.
well done afrihost!

They're selling the devices for ~R800 so they're likely paying in the region of R500-600ea.

When is the Afrihost Android app getting mobile data usage. Oops, haven't even got the SIM yet

*Crying*

I have to wait till 01 Sept 2013 to signup, and I have to pay for a Mi-Fi device....

*crying*

Was too busy this morning, checked later & saw all 1000 gone in less than 20mins.
Got home & saw you had another 8000 up for grabs & got in just before the end, damn i was lucky!!!
Signup was easy, the wait for confirmation was painful!!!
Thanks Afrihost!!!

I was too excited when signing up! Did it say delivery was first week of Sept?

According to the email I received:

Congratulations - You've successfully secured your FREE MiFi device!
I am delighted that you'll get to enjoy Afrihost Mobile data wherever you go on all your devices!
You can now relax.
Here's what's going to happen now:
Our mobile data goes live on the 3rd of September and we will hand over your device to our RICA courier to deliver to you in that week (from the 2nd of September) and you will have your MiFi device by Friday the 6th at the latest.
What do you need for RICA?

Simply have yourself and the usual RICA docs (your ID, a copy of your ID and a copy of a utility bill in your name) ready.
Then when we deliver your device into your hands we'll do the RICA'ing
But fear not we will be in touch closer to the time to confirm details and delivery!
What could go wrong?
The only thing that can go wrong is if your payment bounces. In that case we will be in touch and will deliver your MiFi as soon as we've received payment.

Congratulations again and we look forward to continue bringing you Pure Internet Joy!
Thanks again for trusting us with your business.
Warm regards
Gian Visser
CEO, Afrihost - Pure Internet Joy!

AfriGuy,

The ClientZone reports that my parcel has been packed and payment has been confirmed, but my account is still in arrears by R145?

AfriGuy,

The ClientZone reports that my parcel has been packed and payment has been confirmed, but my account is still in arrears by R145?

We still need to verify you payment (i.e. receive it in our account) before we dispatch the goods on launch today. Once we have confirmation, you should be all settled :)

Email from Afrihost - "Your Mobile Data Account is Ready!"

I assume this was sent a bit prematurely? I thought it was only ready 3/4 September? Or can we actually use the data already?
