Afrihost Mobile Delivery Feedback Thread

I dislike being locked into a contract and this works ideally for my smartphone...no more need to monitor my data usage.

I use a 3GB + 3GB vodacom data contract for 199 p/m on my Xperia Z. If I go out of bundle, I pay like 49/GB.

@Afriman - we had 15 people sign up for this deal at our company. They signed up in their own private capacities, and all put in their own private physical addresses. If possible, we'd like to make special arrangements for all 15 packages to be delivered to our company premises at the same time (with the users consent, of course). No doubt this will save you guys some dosh, and make it easy for us too. Will this be possible?

^^ I logged a call via ClientZone and they changed it for me. Quick & professional. :)

Sorry I will have to give this a skip. I will wait patiently for 4G uncapped internet at full speed with no throttling :D

MTN's coverage map sucks ball. It's completely useless if you don't have a specific address.

Dislike contracts by default, so always looking for easy peasy value for money solutions when it comes to my mobile needs. Got to a stage that I got a cell c sim for my old Desire HD, loaded data and made its hotspot service active,....

Oh yes, ...just got email ...my mobile Data package has been successfully created...clientzone shows, parcel is packed...--Afrihost Mobile FTW

Well done guys! My parcel has been activated and packed already. Cant wait for the 3rd :D

Can i just buy a prepaid MTN sim and use the APN for now?

Haha no, this will not work :?

Whoa, hang on a second - if you are right, then this is huge!

Virtually all of the marketing around this 5GB promo has stated quite clearly that MTN Contract customers will be able to use their data via the APN. In fact, this was my primary reason for purchasing the deal (the Mifi was a bonus). Are you now saying that MTN Contract customers can in fact NOT use their 5GB of data because it is locked to the Afrihost SIM?

You can easily cancel your existing product and then sign up for an equivalent product using your MTN number, once that functionality is available. You won't need a new SIM, and you'll still have a Free MiFi. It really won't be too much of a hassle :)

Cool, that is good to know. Don't get me wrong, its still a great deal, and I'm looking forward to using my Mifi device; I am sure I'll get some use out of it. But I can't be the only one that read the promo material and thought that I could use my 5GB data on my MTN contract.

My debit order has not been deducted yet?
Is this still normal?

Get them to sign a letter saying you reside with them.

All my correspondences are via email, had to dig around but found a Satrix blah blah statement dated June 2013, so all set!

Just make something up and print it out in colour on your printer.
