Afrihost Mobile Delivery Feedback Thread

My daughter's order changed to "delivered to courier" tonight. As I understand most of the outstanding ones are those with issues like non payment, no delivery address, ect. better check your order or PM AfriWhatever.

My daughter had to update her delivery address yesterday so probably that was the delay.
No, they've taken their payment off my card and I haven't moved so there shouldn't be a problem with that.

I'm not particularly fussed - as long as I have it by the 6th I'll be able to use it on holiday.

Nope. My payment went through on the 26th and status changed to "Handed to courier" last night. My delivery address did not change and is very clear. Cause is probably volumes....

Strange. Judging by my credit card statement my payment went through on the 22nd and mine is still pending.

I was at Afrihost HO yesterday saw them packing a **** ton of boxes. Wish I could have just gotten my device yesterday, sadly not lol.
 
Got an email yesterday AM saying it is with the driver 2.3km away, then a call to confirm I will be home today to receive it :what:

Yesterday afternoon a dude pitches up at my gate with my mifi.

Yeah somewhere their coordination is a little screwed. The courier guys are cool, but management needs a little flick on the ears.
 
Got my mifi at exactly 10:30 which the tracking website said and accepted my copies :D.

he also called first which was nice since I was at the mall shopping.
 
Know of at least 3 calls this morning made from MDS to orders under my control to arrange delivery for today - Saturday. So nice of them. Nothing showing on the tracker though.

Edit: Make that 5! Man, they delivered like crazy today (Saturday).

Not necessary that. The logistics company probably only have time during the weekend to sort out all the parcels/pallets/packages etc. Destination Durban, Cape Town, PE, Bloemfontein, Johannesburg etc, unless Afrihost are actually sorting them out in house. If it is true what I read 5000 have been dispatched already since last week, the last batch sent out already.

Best part is still, I was part of the first 1000 :D

But it doesn't bother me it just needs to get here before the 7th

You'll definitely get it before the 6th! Remember, once we go live to the public, there's be a crazy flood of new orders, so our intention is to have zero backlog by then :)

Yeah, our courier picked up the last of the 8,000+ to start delivering over the next week. Everyone should get their stuff before Friday at the absolute latest.

Problem is that about 4,000 people changed their addresses - that's half of the delivery volume. How's that for a curveball? I think MDS have done a great job under the circumstances :)

Yesh, reports are that the guys are working crazy overtime to get these parcels in. They're very dedicated. For us that's what truly matters. Mistakes can happen, technical failures as well, but if your heart is always in helping the client - then we're behind them 100%

Hopefully it all still went well. I can't imagine managing the load and pressure these guys are under. Emails are flying left and right to them and they just keep churning out parcels like the Duracell Bunny. Great bunch of guys! We think they'll do amazing things once we're doing normal day to day deliveries :)

Why not use the default delivery address that was already in the ClientZone before launch on the 20th?

On launch day I made the mistake of inserting my home address. I immediately created a support ticket to have it rectified and I received confirmation that it was done.

Then I received the email to confirm my address. It was my work address but incomplete. Support did not update my address correctly. :(
