Afrihost Mobile Delivery Feedback Thread

Called MDS in Cape Town and they gave me the driver's number. The guy is swamped but I convinced him to deliver mine tomorrow morning.

Can imagine these delivery guys raking in a few speeding fines... :D Just called too..mine has been delayed because they deliver per suburb..and stellenbosch was not a suburb on afrihost system.. sigh...

Gees, trying to cancel my order is just as big a hassle.

According to the rep the only way to cancel is to refuse delivery but since they won't deliver until I give them copies of my identification and proof of address they wont process my order, beyond taking my money of course, so I can't refuse delivery. On top of that I'm away from next week so I'm not even around to refuse delivery of a package they won't deliver anyway…

EDIT: What AfriHost seems to be unable to comprehend is if I was going to be around I wouldn't be refusing delivery :o

Just received mine, 5th Notice of Despatch.
No ETA on the tracker or call, he just pitched up

Dispatch of their JHB depot is 650m from my workplace. They can't help without a waybill number so I'm schit out of luck.

MDS CPT have lost my package they cant seem to track it down.
They now looking around the warehouse for it.

Not impressed with them.

Mobile Data Delivery Update

We would like to thank everyone for their patience while waiting to get their Mobile Packages.
The couriers have tried their utmost to deliver as many devices as possible before 6th September however, there have been some unforeseen delays resulting in some areas not getting their deliveries in time for which we apologise.

Pretoria deliveries can expect completion on Monday 9 September as a result of a high volume of orders.
Cape Town deliveries can expect completion by Tuesday 10 September as a result of a high volumes of orders and the extreme weather conditions that led to rain and flooding.
Durban deliveries can expect completion on Friday 6 September. Due to the oil spill on the highway Monday, no deliveries were done on Tuesday.

Again, we would like to apologise for any frustration the delays in the delivery of your mobile package has caused.

If you have any question or require more information, our team is always on hand to assist. You can contact us via Twitter, Facebook, Google + or call us on 011 612 7200.

Thank you
The Afrihost Team"

Got mine. I thought the whole process worked well. Even the packaging is branded. The email with the router login details was the cream on top. All very 'apple'-in the old days of course. ..

Went to the Selby branch today n collected my item as the delivery which was scheduled for Monday was not successful . Maria n the folks down there were very much helpful. Walked out of the with the device on my hand.

Try going there if you have time just make sure u email Johan to let him now that you would rather collect yourself.

My offer of taking over still stands ;)
The device is apparently pre-rica'd so I can't even cancel mine let alone let a third party take it over (or even accept delivery) so no, ain't gonna happen.

No mention of places outside those three cities?

I've just emailed Deon Hendricks at the Cape Town branch and advised him I would prefer to collect tomorrow afternoon.

Hopefully he will be able to assist.

i just had to do.some banking now and noticed that afrihost debit order went through on my account today....so hopefully my order status will.change soon from pending to verified.

Exept if you want to upgrade to the 10Gb special in which case they pro rata the data to penalise you for upgrading for part of the month but still charge you for the full month.
Of course you can only upgrade when you activate the Sim, which only happens when it gets delivered.
Even Afriman can't tell me my waybill number...

Rather Kafkaesque
