Afrihost Mobile Delivery Feedback Thread

Same here:cry:, still waiting on my sim as of the 9th, what i can`t fathom is that my order tracking at Afrihost states: Handed to Courier 09-09-2013 16:41:45 while MDS on the other hand sends me an email on Wed 2013/09/18 12:16 PM stating:We confirm that we have collected from Afrihost - Despatch for delivery to: so now i am all :confused: I`m beginning to grow weary now of having to wait this long for my sim delivery to take place.

Well in my case I got to be bottom of what caused my mifi to be delayed a wee bit more. Seems like the van that was sent out on 17/09 from MDS Cape Town to deliver some mifi awesomeness was hijacked. Freaking hijacked I tell you. Someone was clearly sick and tired of waiting for his mifi.

We hope that was not the case :(

Thankfully no-one was hurt either.

Now look what I started. :D

I see we have a trouble maker on here, were you the cause of the hijacking :P

Dude that is terrible, hopefully you took out a protection plan with your devices, cause I am not sure if Afrihost actually pay insurance cover to the courier company in the event of this nature. MDS were transparent on this kudos to them, others wouldn't tell a word. Please keep is updated on what is happening

What FlashSA said :)
You'll need to change the APN to 'afrihost' and you'll be good to go.

And you responded superfast...... my work here was in vain ;)

@FlashSA you can be the new REP :P - they will probably employ some more, if there is vacant post then I can be an irate customer and moan at u :P u will be called probabl AfriFlash :P

You're in Cape Town, right?

Don't you guys throw poo at people? ;)

*ducks to avoid projectile faeces*

I feel sorry for the REP that is located in Cape Town, next time he comes to visit you folks at HQ, you can tell us if he decided to throw some human feces at you :P

I did not take out the protection plan. Afrihost reissued the sim + device yesterday and it was out for delivery today already. MDS did not tell me a thing. Afri(Man)host revealed this to me.

If that is the case for real the hijacking I feel sorry for all those MiFi packages in the van with all the delivery details.

That is good that they have assured you, that you are going to get your goodies.

I'll stick to my pro bono position.... I can deny and duck and hide ;)

With regard to our Cape Town rep, we're not sure what he's capable of. But we hope that when he's in Joburg, the influence of the mountain will have worn off :)

Just kidding, you know we love the Mother City ;)

If your product is damaged, lost, hijacked or kidnapped by aliens before it reached you, we'll replace it whether you have the protection plan or not. Once it's with you however - that's another story :)

Yeah, sorry to had to hear it from me. Our general manager is also going to get in touch officially very soon :(

Not a problem man, just glad we got to the bottom of it. Got the call mentioned by MDS just a few minutes ago, explaining everything I already know :D

It is all about communication in the end imo. Telling my clients that X happened and that there will be a 4 week delay on an order seems to go down better than trying to lie and hide what actually happened. This is speaking generally, not saying anyone tried to hide anything from me here.

And in other news: MDS might be delivering my awesomeness today. :D Need to omnom quite a chunk of data in 9 days. Youtube here I come.

Been waiting since the 9th for my order of an additional 2 sims. Gave my work address and MDS tries to deliver it today. Ffs warn me a day before not the morning on the same day.

Yeah, will require some serious broadband stamina. If you're battling to get through it, drop me a PM and I'll see what I can do :)

And also - Totally agree, honest & open communication is king :)

Sorry about this. I think they're trying to catch up on backlog, but it's crazy to deliver to a work address on a saturday.

Let's hope they re-schedule for during the week :)

ROFLMAO! Where did they recruit you from ? I have never come across any aliens whatsoever but do tell me more about them ?

Good to know it will be covered if mother nature happens and it's good on your part you were transparent with the customer/client others wouldn't be so forward. Clarity, honesty is always a noble thing in my books, hate companies that lie and don't take responsibility.

MDS were never transparent with me whatsoever their drivers had excuses that they couldn't find my house number etc but after supplying them with crossroads/intersections that helped them a lot to actually find me.

What MDS should do before the driver is dispatched etc. They should send an SMS notification and by default if you don't respond that means you available for the courier if you aren't then type NO :)
